Its our belief that exceptional wheels make for exceptional bikes. With just a little bit of care, time and knowledge you can transform a bike beyond the ‘off the shelf’ and have something that is that truly special.

Expertly built, bespoke, hand-built bicycle wheels can last a lifetime, can help you to ride further and faster and improve your experience on two wheels.

Lighter and stronger than stock built wheels, hand-built bicycle wheels increase acceleration, improve handling, increase maximum speed and reduce the amount of effort needed to get you there.

Starting your wheel build journey…

Before we can start your bespoke wheel build there is a few bits of information we need to know.

  • Your rider weight in KG, + any additional load to be carried and it’s location
  • Your riding style / intended use (i.e. Club Rides, Enduro MTB, Competition Level CX, Touring…etc.)
  • Terrain likely to be encountered
  • Rim vs disk brake (or other?)
  • The bike you intend to use your new wheels with and it’s axle / freehub spec if known.
  • Intended tyre width if known
  • The approximate budget you’d like to spend

We’ll get to know you, your riding style, your bike and the terrain you’ve got in your sights. And, naturally, your budget.

We’ll work with you to understand the perfect combination of hubs, rims and spokes.

We’ll also work out the perfect approach to assembling those components. Whether it’s a stiffer-than-stiff, razor-sharp race weapon or a comfy, last-a-lifetime commuter hoop.

Cost

Hand built custom wheels are a bespoke product and as such the pricing can vary

Our standard labour charge is £50 - £100 per wheel, this includes the consultation time and sourcing of parts.

We’re able to supply almost any components that you need! We regularly work with Bitex, Kinlin, Hope, Stans NoTubes, DTSwiss, ChrisKing, White Industries, Pacenti Cycle Design, Industry Nine and many many more.

Our Guarantee!!

Every wheel leaves the workshop with a spoke lifetime guarantee for workmanship and reliability. See Below*

All wheels will be true and with perfectly balanced spoke tension set to the manufacturer’s specifications and tolerances. Wherever possible hubs are further weatherproofed in house, as is spoke / nipple interface for mile after mile of smooth riding.

With the right care and maintenance, your wheels will stay true and free from spoke failure within their intended use.

*All spokes are subject to fatigue over their lifetime; but a well built wheel will last a long time. At a minimum this guarantee offers 5 years for butted spokes and 10 years for high end bladed spoke builds.

AND IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM...

In the most unlikely event that you have a problem simply return your wheel for re-truing or replacement spokes, free of charge.

WHAT ISNT COVERED…

This guarantee does not not cover the cost of any postage that may be incurred in returning your wheels.

All component parts are covered by their respective manufacturer’s warranties we will deal with the manufacturers and any replacement parts on your behalf

This guarantee does not cover material damage from crashes or strikes during on or off-road use or damage to spokes due to incorrect rear derailleur settings or poor maintenance. We realise that things like this happen and in the event we offer a reduced build rate for such eventualities as well as trade price parts whenever possible.

Nor does it cover the normal wear and tear of the rim due to braking or spokes reaching the end of their normal fatigue life after many thousands of miles.
